If you are an artist or a recording sound engineer you already know how difficult that can be to achieve. The QUE-4 System allows individual artistes to control what they wish to hear and they love having this freedom. Secondly it completely frees your recording engineer from having to worry about musicians headphone mixes and allows him solely to focus on his primary task with obvious benefits. The Que-4 is an 4 channel mixer with the output connected to the artiste's headphones. Six of the mixers in this system can each run upto 5 x sets of headphones, the remaining two mixers have 2 x headphone outputs and 2 x low impedence outputs capable of driving loudspeakers up to a power of 8 watts (small monitors).  Each channel has a 60mm fader to adjust the channel volume, and a rotary pan control to position the signal anywhere in the final stereo image. The summed signals are fed via stereo, treble, bass and volume controls to the output sockets. Low, medium or high impedance headphones are catered for. The output stages use conservatively rated devices and custom wound transformers to provide the sparkling performance artistes love. A local balanced line/instrument input socket on the side of the unit is also provided to allow for artistes to connect a keyboard / metronome etc directly into the system.   The System comprises of 8 x 4 way individual artist mixers, 2 x system mixer power supplies (either power supply is capable of powering the total system  / you do not have to connect each individual mixer to the mains), a signal distribution unit  to which you input from console auxiliaries to XLR, 5mtr multicore leads for each mixer with heavy duty connectors and all items are flight cased.  There are two banks of 4 x XLR inputs and two banks of 4 x multipin heavy duty headphone outputs.   This is not a standard system. To maximise the operational capabilities this unit has been confiqured to function as one complete or two independent, 4 channel stereo headphone systems. So in a track laying format for example, bass & drums can utilise one 4 x channel stereo system and the remaining musicians on the session the other, with each player having level control of their 4 channel sources and overall headphone volume. With this flexibility you can fulfil demanding monitoring requirements of any given session. As a further example you could have one system set for tracking and one system set for overdubs / vocals, eliminating the continual reconfiguration of your headphone mix.... you will wonder how you ever managed without one ...and realise that is why some of the major world studios have invested in these systems. more information:- With one user friendly unit the artist can control what he or she wants to hear without wasting precious recording time.  The Que-4 will deliver more power into 200Ω headphones than the most demanding performer is ever likely to need. The Que-4 is designed to interface with the studio mixing console and is usually connected to auxiliary send outputs. In the studio, the theatre or a touring situation, the Que-4 enables performers to adjust their own monitor mixes, leaving the balance engineer to concentrate on the creativity of the recording or PA mix. The maximum number of units that may be connected to a console is governed by the output drive capabilities of the console. Most consoles will drive a 600Ω balanced load and would therefore be able to happily drive in excess of 60 units. With the system strapped for unbalanced operation 30 units would present a load of >700Ω. More than adequate for most needs. It is interesting to note that it would require a power amplifier rated in excess of 250W into 4ohms to produce the same level into 200ohms phones as the Que- 4, and consiquentley this system is ideal to work with industry standard Beyer 100 / Beyer 150 headphones as well as any personal headphones an artist may wish to use while recording.   You will also be impressed with the clarity and power of the system making headphone mix nightmares a thing of the past this will without doubt be reflected in the performances of your artists and clients.
